Anything a kid - or parent - could want or need.
For a full list of accepted items, please visit our Sell With Us page.
All preloved items must be good quality. We do not accept dirty, damaged, or overly worn goods.
Battery-operated toys and items must have working batteries and a screw-on battery cover. Unfortunately, we are unable to replace or supply batteries.
Please ensure all items are complete and fit for resale. Items that require all pieces to be usable or enjoyable must be complete (for example, puzzles and car seats).
We are generally unable to sell items valued at less than $5, as administration costs cannot be recovered. However, we can accept these low-value items as donated goods, with a percentage of sales going to local charities (see our Donating page).
The process begins when you bring in your items for sale. If you have never sold with Little Split P before, you will be asked to fill in a form with your details.
While you are completing the form, your items may be sorted, and any items that Little Split P does not accept will be handed back to you.
Items that are accepted will be placed in a queue for sorting, pricing, and tagging, and then placed on the shop floor for sale. Some items may also be listed on our website or Facebook page to reach a wider audience.
If an item isn’t selling, we will reduce the price by 25% after eight weeks and by 50% after twelve weeks. Little Split P may extend the time period before reducing the price in certain circumstances, for example if the item is out of season or is a larger item and therefore in lower demand.
If twelve weeks pass and your items have not sold, they will either be donated or, if you selected that you would like them returned, we will contact you via text to let you know they are ready for collection. Items must be collected within seven days of notification or they will be donated.
When your items sell, we will arrange for the proceeds from the sale, less our 50% commission, to be deposited into your bank account. Payments are made at the beginning of each month. For example, if an item sells in March, you will receive payment in early April.
You will receive an email with an invoice confirming that payment has been made. We do not issue invoices where the total commission is less than $10.
Because there is such a large range of children’s clothing on the market, we are limited to the sizes and brands that we can sell on behalf.
We accept:
- children’s clothing from newborn up to and including size 12. - shoes up to women’s size 6.
- 100% merino clothing from most brands.
Brands we love to sell include Nature Baby, Stranger, Minti, Rock Your Baby, Radicool, Seed, Gap, Country Road, Jamie Kay, Calvin Klein, Armani, Bardot, Bonds, and Toshi. If you aren’t sure about an item of clothing, please send us a message.
Clothes and shoes must be in great condition. Please ensure items are clean and in a condition you would be happy to buy yourself (not musty, damaged, or dirty). Items that are not fit for sale will be declined.
There are certain brands that we cannot sell. Due to very small margins, brands we generally do not sell include Cotton On, H&M, The Warehouse, Kmart, Postie, TnT, Teeny Weeny, and Pumpkin Patch.
If you have good-quality items from the brands listed above that we cannot sell on behalf, but you would like to pass them on, please still bring them in. We are able to sell these as donated goods, with proceeds going to local family-oriented non-profit organisations.
Unfortunately, we generally cannot sell overseas brands that are not well known in New Zealand.
Yes, we sell cots, provided they meet New Zealand Safety Standards and come with all required parts.
Please contact Little Split P to discuss before bringing large items into the store.
We will run through a checklist to ensure all requirements are met before agreeing to sell any cots.
To check at home whether your cot meets New Zealand Safety Standards, please refer to the Commerce Commission website.
We do sell car seats, provided they are from reputable brands sold in New Zealand (for example, Britax, Joie, Safety First, Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Edwards & Co, and Graco).
Car seats must have at least two years remaining before their expiration date, be in great condition, and come with all required parts. You will be required to declare that the car seat has not been involved in an accident.
Please contact the shop to discuss before bringing a car seat in to sell.
Car seats must meet the appropriate safety standards, which can be found on the New Zealand Transport Agency website.
When you drop off your items, you will be asked whether you would like to collect any unsold items or donate them (leaving them for Little Split P to sort).
If you choose the “collect” option, you will receive a text message notifying you that some items did not sell and that you have seven days to collect them, unless otherwise specified. After this period, any uncollected items will be processed for donation.
If you have a sale price in mind, please let us know.
Otherwise, we will research and determine an appropriate sale price. Unless you specifically ask us to, we will not confirm sale prices before items are put out for sale.
